1. Healthy Diet

Drinking plenty of water throughout the day and making good, healthy dietary food choices including plenty of fruits and vegetables daily will help you maintain optimal health. You probably know- what is best for your body is best for your skin.

2. Exercise

Regular exercise can help fight acne by fighting off negative stress levels that can come from negative self-esteem and depression. Avoid wearing tight lycra and nylon outfits. It will trap body moisture and heat making an ideal environment for bacteria to grow. Stick to loose clothing made of cotton or natural blends, and keep your sports gear and equipment clean.

3. Safe Cosmetics

Avoid pore-clogging and skin irritations products. Try to buy cosmetics and perfumes that are "hypo-allergenic" and comedogenic or oil-free. Avoid mineral oil in skin care products as they will just clog your pores and skin won’t breathe. Always read the label.

4. Hormonal Treatment

Hormones (or a lack of them) during later years - especially for women - can play a role in acne flare-ups and prevention. Studies show that about 50 percent of women have acne, which is referred to as hormonal acne, during the week before their menstruation.
Treatment options include topical retinoids, oral antibiotics and benzoyl peroxide for teen years. Oral contraceptives or hormonal birth control pills and hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) may be helpful for women, combined with systemic or topical treatments, prescription or over-the-counter products and medications.

5. Stress

Stress includes internal and external stressors. Internal stressors like anxiety, fear, low self-esteem, depression and a variety of other internalized emotions, can trigger chemical reactions inside your body that can result in acne flare-ups and other skin irritations. External stressors are those that compromise your skin's ability to heal, like oily make-up and too much sun.

Get plenty of rest and sleep. Read a book, rest, listen to music, take a walk and go out for an ice cream or cake.

6. Healthy Skin Regime

It is very important to avoid harsh scrubbing or over-washing, because this can cause skin irritation and can contribute to an over production of oil to replace what's washed off, clogging pores in the process. Always use products with gentle exfoliation ingredients and avoid products that contain alcohol.  Many persons use every type of product, including alcoholic detergents and exfoliant creams, often irritate the skin more than clear it!

7. Shaving

Use a shaving cream for sensitive skin and do not shave areas that are sore or infected.

Gentle swipe using a sharp blade (a single-edged blade is better than a twin-blade razor).Electric razors may not shave as close to the skin, but they may be a better choice for the prevention of acne and other skin breakouts.

Treatments – Alpha hydroxy acid and chemical peels acne treatment

The most successful acne treatment methods may include laser acne treatment, acne blemish laser treatment, and acne rosacea treatment. Consult with your dermatologist in order to determine which adult acne removal treatment will work best for you.

Alpha hydroxyl (ascorbic acid technique) works by reducing the levels of oil in the skin. It also reduces the number of dead cells in the skin so your face looks healthier and with less irritation. This particular acne care treatment is effective when used in the early or mid stages of the problem, but it also used in severe acne treatment. Ascorbic acid is found in several acne ointments and acne treatment drugs.

Chemical peel treatments are used to remove age spots, mild scars, sun damaged skin, lines under the eyes and around the mouth. Acne treatments may include this method in which the dermatologist applies a certain chemical substance to the skin, so the targeted spot blisters can be peeled off. This method of acne care treatment is effective mostly for removing scars and is accompanies by stinging sensation and some heat.
